GARDENA MOOSE EVENTS

The Gardena Moose Lodge at 15509 S. Vermont Ave., Gardena, has regular events for members and guests throughout the month. Taco Tuesday by Clyde is every second and fourth Tuesday; wings night is every Wednesday; hamburger night is Thursdays; and steak and fish can be enjoyed on Fridays. All dinners are from 6 to 8 p.m.

Music by Saxy Jeff can be heard on Fridays.

Those looking for something ”different,” can visit the Gardena Elks Lodge No. 1919 for a variety of events: Second Sunday of each month breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m.; every Tuesday night is hamburger night (sometimes they serve something other than hamburgers), and every second and fourth Friday is fish fry (with steak and chicken) and dancing after dinner. Events are for Elks Lodge members and their guests.

The Elks Lodge is located at 1735 W. 162nd St., Gardena (just east of Western Avenue). For more information on any of the events at the lodge, call 310-327-1919 Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ELKS HOLIDAY DRIVE-THRU

The Gardena Elks Lodge No. 1919 will present its 2nd Holiday Drive-thru event, “Stuff a Stocking Drive-Thru” on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The event is for kids 10 years and younger and will take place at 1735 W. 162nd St., Gardena. Stockings will be provided. All guests must stay in their vehicles. The event is limited to 300 kids.

Free Virtual Fair Housing Workshop to Teach Fair Housing Rights & Responsibilities

Gardena, CA – To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Fair Housing Foundation will be holding a Virtual Fair Housing  Workshop via Zoom from 10:00am to 11:30am on Wednesday, March 9, 2021, for the city of Gardena. This workshop is free and open to the public. Attendees will learn about how they are protected under fair housing laws, what their rights and responsibilities as tenants and landlords are, and how to deal with tenant and landlord disputes. Fair Housing Foundation will explain state and federal fair housing laws, discuss state and federally protected classes, notices, security deposit, rent increases, how COVID-19 has impacted housing including moratoriums and the COVID 19 Tenant Relief Act, and much more.

The Fair Housing Foundation services residents of the city of Gardena. We are contracted by the city of Gardena and receive funds through the Community Development Block Grants. We educate the public about Fair Housing rights and responsibilities through workshops, trainings, and community events. FHF provides mediation and counseling services through our housing assistance hotline 1-800-446-FAIR (3247) and walk-in clinics. We also investigate issues of discrimination related to housing.
