Freeman scored 16 points to lead Serra High's boys basketball team to its third CIF-Southern Section championship in the past four seasons by winning the Division IVAA title over La Verne Lutheran, 70-52, Saturday at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena. Freeman transferred to Serra from Morningside High in Inglewood last summer. His 16 points, including some critical baskets that helped the Cavaliers pull away in the fourth quarter, evened his season high.
