As the city of Gardena’s home newspaper since 1904, the Gardena Valley News has dedicated more than a century of reporting and documenting of community events, before and after the 1930 incorporation of Gardena.
Because of our city’s unique demographics and diverse cultures, the GVN has covered the impact of monumental events from the great depression at the end of the 1930s, to the various wars in world history, from the civil rights movement of the 1960s to the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 — as they have shaped our community through the ‘eyes of Gardenans’ over the generations.
Since the new millennium, the Gardena Valley News has integrated print, digital and social media platforms to give our readers the widest access possible to “hometown” coverage. Our monthly “And More” issue also reaches our readers in neighboring areas, and is hand-delivered to more than 20,000 residences. No other newspaper continues to make Gardena readers its most treasured asset, and as the GVN grows in readership, we will always keep our spotlight on community news.
