A San Bernardino man has been charged with the murder of an 82-year-old family member, according to a statement released by the Gardena Police Department.
At 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, police responded to reports of somebody screaming at the business located in the 1500 Block of W 130th Street.
“Upon arrival, officers contacted a male at the location who was wearing blood-stained clothing,” the statement reads. “After detaining the male, officers entered the business and discovered a second male who was unresponsive. Gardena officers immediately began lifesaving measures, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded. Unfortunately, the unresponsive male was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified as Le Roy Harris, 82 years old, and a resident of Inglewood.”
The suspect, 43-year-old Donte Harris, was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene, and taken to the Gardena Police Department for booking. He’s a resident of Victorville and a family member of Le Roy Harris. There are no further details on the suspect, the deceased, or the murder at present.
