The Okinawa Association of America (OAA) will present a one-night-only performance by a special guest musician from Okinawa, Takane Kochihira at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at the OAA Center in Gardena.

Kochihira was born in the Shuri district of Naha City, Okinawa, with ancestral roots in Miyako Island. He learned how to play sanshin (a traditional Okinawan instrument) as a child, and like a growing number of young musicians in Okinawa, has since created original music mixing his roots with modern folk and pop music.

In addition to popular Okinawan songs and his original material, Kochihira will perform his latest hit "Okinawa Dance Marathon," a fun anthem complete with a dance choreography that Kochihira teaches his audiences!

Admission is free for current OAA members and $7 for non-members. Due to limited parking and seating, RSVP is required to attend this performance.

Contact the OAA at 310-532-1929 or oaaliveevent@gmail.com to reserve your seat. The OAA is located at 16500 S. Western Ave., Gardena.
