Gardena residents can recycle their Christmas trees now to Saturday Jan. 16 thanks to special accommodations by the local refuse company, Waste Resources. To take advantage of this service, residents should:
Remove all ornaments/decorations, tinsel, lights, stand and nails from the trees.
Cut trees in half that are taller than 6 feet.
Place prepared trees curbside, along with trash containers, on regular collection day.
Flocked trees and trees coated with a fire retardant will be accepted.

Also, roll-off bins will be placed at the following three City parks for residents to drop off their tree at Rowley Park, 13220 S. Van Ness Ave.; Fukai Park, 15800 S. Brighton Ave.; and Johnson Park 1200 W. 170th St.
Trees will be recycled to minimize waste and help to protect the environment
Last year, more than 10 tons of Christmas trees were collected in the City of Gardena for recycling.
