"A Long way Down," based on Nick Hornby's best-selling novel, is the story of four people planning to commit suicide on New Year's Eve. This, according to the narrative, is a night when many people contemplate taking their own lives.

As the movie begins, Pierce Brosnan is the first to arrive at a London rooftop intending to take a flying leap into oblivion.  As he stands on the ledge he is joined by Toni Collette who also plans to jump, but she tells him to take his time.  She can wait.  As they chat Imogen Poots shows up, followed by Aaron Paul in this black comedy that explores why this foursome wants to end it all.  As they chat they eventually decide to halt their plans for six weeks to see what might happen.  Who knows, they may even reconsider hanging in there as opposed to ending it all. Somehow their bizarre situation is leaked to the press who begin to take an avid interest in all four, making matters worse.

While the premise sounds bleak, it is handled with humor and heart as we get to know this mismatched foursome as they get to know one another.

Bonus material includes deleted scenes, outtakes, a feature on the making of the film and more.  Rated R for language.
