The Career Advancement Academy is a short-term training program that offers education and career opportunities in high-demand industries. CAA students learn technical skills, attend workplace readiness workshops, and sharpen their academic abilities so they are ready for a career.
Students can earn multiple certificates, prepare resumes, learn how to interview for manufacturing jobs, and meet with employers.
Part of a statewide initiative designed to increase the access to higher education that leads to jobs, the CAA combines career technical education with basic skills in high-demand career areas where new workers are needed immediately.
Students in the program benefit from numerous career skills workshops covering topics such as resume writing, interviewing, job retention, interpersonal skills relating to the workplace, industry specific “green” classes, and total quality management.
Books are also paid for through this program, in addition to trade-specific equipment for each student.
