The City of Gardena gets the green light to host a ribbon cutting ceremony on the corner of Purche and Rosecrans avenues at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22.

This event will commemorate the installation of a highly-anticipated traffic signal on the northwest corner of the intersection. Local residents, businesses and elected officials have been invited to participate in the event.

For years, Gardena residents have been soliciting their city officials for the construction of a traffic signal at this intersection. In his invitation to the ceremony, Mayor Paul Tanaka stated that the newly-constructed traffic signal will “slow down traffic and … make the intersection safer for vehicles and pedestrians alike.”

All citizens interested are invited to attend the commemoration.
