In the last month, Gardena Police Officers have captured several sets of residential burglars. These burglars are targeting neighborhoods in the early mornings, afternoons, and even some early evenings. Many work in pairs, with one acting as a "lookout" as the other knocks on the residence's front door, police officials said.
Once they determine that no one is home, the burglars will go to the rear or side of the residence to find the easiest way to gain entry so that they can burglarize the house.

“We have received numerous calls from people who have seen suspicious activity in their neighborhoods,” GPD Lt. Vince Osorio said. “Some of these calls end up being nothing. Others, however, can turn into the capture and identification of burglars or other criminals.
“We are thankful for the level of participation and diligence that the citizens of Gardena have and want you to know that we can do our jobs even better with your help. With your help, we can go from a hundred sets of eyes watching the City of Gardena to several thousands. Thank you for helping us to keep the City safe.”
