DCH Gardena Honda has been selling Honda vehicles in the South Bay since 1979 and company officials say their team takes pride in “building long term relationships with its customers and business partners by providing exceptional sales and service experience at the dealership.”

 

That commitment to excellence has earned DCH Gardena Honda the Outstanding Business Award for July 2013 to December 2013, courtesyof the City of Gardena and the Gardena Business Advisory Council.

The dealership developed theDCH Teen Safe Driving Program, a teen-focused, driver safety community outreach and marketing program. The goal of the Program is to raise awareness through education, action and advocacy to teach teens about smart decisions and safe driving.  DCH Gardena Honda is affiliated with Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and sponsors SADD programs at Luezinger and Gardena High School.

 

General Manager Barry Magnus has been with DCH Gardena Honda since February 2011, and has continued the dealership’s long-time commitment to community involvement with programs such as Teen Safe Driving Program, the Christmas Toy Drive and more recent programs such as Operation Backpack and Career Day at the local schools.

 

The dealership recently hosted Operation Backpack, along with the Gardena Valley Chamber of Commerce and other sponsors and distributed backpacks full of school supplies to more than 100 youngsters.

 

City officials applauded the company for its smart business sense and its partnerships with schools and the community.

 

“Congratulations to DCH Gardena Honda and Barry Magnus for being selected to receive the City of Gardena’s Outstanding Business Award,” officials said.

 

Taking applications for 2014

 

The Gardena Business Advisory Council (made up of Gardena Business owners) would like to reach out to the business community.  The G-BAC is accepting nominations for the January to June 2014 City of Gardena’s Outstanding Business Award. This award recognizes and showcases successful Gardena businesses semi-annually.

 

Nomineeswill be judged on their business achievements, including leadership, stability, growth and profitability, and community involvement.
