One suspect was arrested and another still at large in a Gardena home-invasion robbery Dec. 12, police said last week.

The robbery took place around 3 a.m. in the 15500 block of Normandie Avenue, Gardena police Lt. Steve Prendergast said. Two suspects then tried to evade arrest by driving north on the freeway.

Police arrested a 15-year-old male suspect after he and a second suspect led police on a freeway chase to the Culver City area. Police forced the suspects’ vehicle to crash at the La Cienega Boulevard off-ramp to the Santa Monica Freeway, Prendergast said.

An officer sustained minor injuries while arresting the youth, Prendergast said.

The second male suspect fled the crash scene on foot. He might also be involved in a reported carjacking in that vicinity, Prendergast said.

Police said that the victim of the carjacking attempt was hospitalized with stab wounds. There was no further information on the victim’s condition.
