Budget approved at council meeting

At the City Council meeting on the evening of Tuesday, May 29, Administrative Item 13A called on the council to receive and file, “the City of Gardena’s Proposed Biennial Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 and Fiscal Year 2027-2028.”

According to the budget, the General Fund expects to generate $89,905,980 in 2026/27, and to see outgoings on $89,812,078. That leaves just $93,902.

In 2027/28, the GF is expected to bring in $94,723,768, with outgoings of $94,642,578. That leaves $81,190.

The budget was unanimously received and filed, with a 4-0 vote. Council Member Wanda Love was absent for the evening.

Recreation and Human Services item 18A calls on the council to, “Authorize Purchase of MAX169 16’x9′ Mobile LED Screen for City Events in the Amount of $118,928.39 from Musco Sports Lighting.” That item passed unanimously.
