A dynamic new faith community is springing up in the Gardena area, and everyone is welcome. Starting Sunday, June 19, at 9:30 am, Gateway Fellowship, an extension of Rolling Hills Covenant Church, will begin weekly services at the 186th Street Elementary School in Gardena, church officials said.
Rolling Hills Covenant Church is well known for its annual living art production, “Pageant of Our Lord,” which estimated has been seen by more than 250,000 people.
A dynamic new faith community is springing up in the Gardena area, and everyone is welcome. Starting Sunday, June 19, at 9:30 am, Gateway Fellowship, an extension of Rolling Hills Covenant Church, will begin weekly services at the 186th Street Elementary School in Gardena, church officials said.

The teaching at Gateway will be shared by its two pastors, Sam Evans and Andy Noch. Pastor Evans had a successful career in the aero-space industry when he then was called by God to pursue full-time ministry, and enrolled at Talbot seminary to train as a pastor. Pastor Noch’s ministry background includes planting a church in San Diego and serving as a professor at a Bible college in Ethiopia.
What can people expect when they visit Gateway? According to Pastor Sam: “you’ll be greeted by friendly people, and if you’ve got kids, they’ll have a great time. You will sense that we have a high view of God and scripture, and try to apply God’s word to every aspect of our lives. The Bible teaches that a person’s deepest need is spiritual, and our passion is to help people understand how to meet that need through a relationship with Jesus.”
Pastor Noch adds, “In addition to the Sunday worship services, we will also develop small group Bible studies that met in homes and live life with each other as a supportive and caring family.”
Serving the local community is important to this new church, and they have already been active in volunteer activities at 186th Street Elementary School, 1581 W. 186th St., Gardena. Gateway places a great value on children and will offer programs for kids of all ages, intended to expand as the church grows.
