At the City Council meeting on the evening of Tuesday, July 14, Administrative Services Item 13A called for, “Approval of the Classification and Compensation Plan to Reflect a 4% Cost-of-Living Adjustment Increase, per Gardena Municipal Employees Association (GMEA) and Gardena Management Employees Organization (GMEO) Contractual Agreements, effective July 5, 2026.
Staff recommended that the council, “Approve the Classification and Compensation Plan to reflect a 4% Cost-of-Living Adjustment per Gardena Municipal Employees Association (GMEA) and Gardena Management Employees Organization (GMEO) Contractual Agreements, effective July 5, 2026.”
With newly seated Council Member Jeff Fukasawa absent, the item passed unanimously with a 4-0 vote.
Elected & City Managers Offices Item 15A called for, “RESOLUTION NO. 6744, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute Agreements with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) for Implementation of a Local Transaction and Use Tax.”
That passed unanimously, as did 15B: “RESOLUTION NO. 6745, Authorizing Examination of Sales or Transactions and Use Tax Records,” and 15C: “Approval of First Amendment to Agreement with Hinderliter, de Llamas and Associates (HdL) Companies for City Tax Audit and Information Services.”
Police Item 16A called for, “Authorization to Contract with Phoenix Group Information Systems for Parking Administrative, and Law Enforcement Processing Services.”
That passed unanimously, as did Public Works Item 17A, a public hearing: “INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 1891, Amending Chapter 8.70 of the Municipal Code for Stormwater and Runoff Pollution Control and Declare California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Exemption.”
