A local family is asking for help from the community after their apartment was devastated by a fire.

At around noon on Monday, April 22, the home of the Juarez Lopez family was engulfed by a quick-spreading fire. As a result, a GoFundMe has been set up to help get the family back on their feet.

“Our parents were immediately taken to the hospital. Our mom has been discharged, however, our dad continues to be hospitalized. Unfortunately, due to the size of the incident, there was a lot of damage and many valuables lost including medications, personal documents, furniture, appliances, etc. Rebuilding will take time but we greatly appreciate any support you can give,” reads the fundraiser.

The goal has been set at $6000 and, at the time of writing, they had just broken $4000.
