Gerald Ishibashi of Stonebridge Entertainment will present a concert event entitled, “The Great Nisei Reunion,” Sunday, Nov. 16 at The Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles. The concert will feature the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and the Mills Brothers, with special guests, the Island Crooners. The event will be a tribute to the Nisei Generation.

“The idea started as an ‘oldies concert,’ but the basic format offered such a wealth of options to create a truly special event to share with loved ones,” Ishibashi said. “So, I turned it into a reunion opportunity, as a way to say ‘thank you’ to “the greatest generation.

“I would love to see Sansei and Yonsei mingling with their elders, so I am offering a special ticket deal that will be good until Nov. 1.”

For every ticket purchased, you will receive a ticket of equal value for your favorite Nisei,” he added.

The event will be hosted by actress/entertainer, Brittany Ishibashi.

In addition, there will be a special bento lunch by Don Tahara of The FAR BAR (formerly Far East Café) available for purchase prior to the show.

“So many of our Nisei are in their 80s and 90s now,” Ishibashi said. “I have wanted to do this concert for some time now. This is the music of their youth… a walk down memory lane for our Nisei parents and relatives. What a great way to share a moment in time with these special folks.”

The performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Aratani Theatre, formerly The Japan America Theatre, located at 244 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles. Ticket prices are $60 and $45.

“With the sentiment and pent-up demand for such an event, tickets are expected to sell out quickly,” Ishibashi said. For tickets and information, call 310-627-7272 or contact www.StonebridgeEntertainment.com.
