Boba Beast has bite

By Brett Callwood

It’s clear immediately when entering Boba Beast on South Western Avenue that this place is going to be fun. From the wonderful mascot, a literal boba beast complete with devil horns and a long tongue, to the art on the wall and the friendly staff, it feels very much like you’re walking into a strange new world. A warm and welcoming world.

At Boba Beast, we’ve been crafting smiles, one sip at a time, for over a decade and a half,” they say on their website. “Our family-run boba shop, lovingly nurtured by Miss Tiffany, is more than just a place to enjoy drinks and treats; it’s a cherished part of our community. We specialize in crafting both hot and cold beverages designed to quench your thirst and delight your taste buds. Our commitment to quality extends across our ingredients, drinks, and customer service, setting us apart from the rest. Our smoothies, slushes, and crepes feature the vibrant flavors of fresh fruit, elevating your experience.”

We opted for a Banana Smoothie, which on paper looks like a fairly unadventurous choice but was delicious. The cold smoothie mixture was both fresh and fruity, but also creamy enough to feel like a sweet treat.

It’s thick and full of banana flavor, refreshing by also satisfying and quite filling. The boba is chewy and tasty, and adds an interesting flavor and texture to the drink.

The menu at Boba Beast is large and extensive, and they you to combine flavors to make your own smoothie/slushie mix. Everything looks great and, should you have any questions, they staff are on hand to offer expert advice.

“Our teas are brewed with special recipes that ensure they are unrivaled in town. For those seeking warmth, we offer a selection of hot beverages like hot cocoa, Caramel Macchiato, and Hawaiian Kona Coffee, perfect for the colder seasons. Among our most beloved offerings, you’ll find favorites such as Milk Tea, Thai Tea, Fusion Tea, Peach Smoothie, Watermelon Slush, Taro Slush, Honeydew Slush, and a plethora of other delightful choices. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we invite you to indulge in the Boba Beast experience.”

The area surrounding Boba Beast is a plethora of wonderful restaurants catering to all manner of Asian cuisine. If you go and sample one of them, and we heartily suggest that you do, then treat yourself to a light but still delicious dessert-esque treat at Boba Beast afterwards. You won’t regret it.
