COVID numbers remain a city concern

At the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 9, City Manager Clint Osorio delivered the latest COVID-19 numbers, which saw two local residents die since the last meeting.

The case count is, as of that meeting, at 19,344, which is an increase of 952 since the last meeting. There have now been a total of 272 deaths.

The number of children of age 5-11 that are vaccinated is 35.2 percent, while the number of people over 12 that are vaccinated is at 89.1 percent. Youth of age 12-17 are at 82.1 percent, and seniors (65+) are at 95+ percent.

Since August 23, 2021, 7,292 residents have been tested at Rowley Park. That’s an increase of 280 tests since the last meeting.
