A local Girl Scout troop has taken the time to create and donate adoption care packages for every family who adopts a dog through Infinite Love Animal Rescue. In the process, Girl Scout Troop 5365 worked toward the Bronze Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn at the Junior level.
“As part of their project, the troop partnered with Infinite Love Animal Rescue, a Gardena-based nonprofit, to create more than 35 ‘Welcome Home’ starter kits for newly adopted dogs and cats,” according to a press release provided by Kandace Kuwahara of Infinite Animal Rescue, who had the care packages presented to her. “By providing essential supplies and thoughtful notes of encouragement, the troop is helping new pet families begin their adoption journey with the resources and support needed to give their pets a successful start.”
According to the statement, the troop put kits together for dogs and cats. “Each thoughtfully prepared kit included pet food and treats, toys, leashes, poop bags, grooming wipes, brushes, rawhide chews, pee pads, an adoption folder to safely organize veterinary and adoption records, and a handwritten note thanking adopters for choosing adoption and giving an animal a loving forever home.”
The troop also donated extra leashes, blankets, towels, cat scratchers, large bags of dog and cat food, plus $250 to h”elp provide medical care and daily necessities for animals rescued by Infinite Love Animal Rescue.”
“This was really fun to do, and I was excited to help new pet owners,” said Madison, a member of Girl Scout Troop 5365. “Everything was donated by our friends, family, and local businesses.”
The Girl Scouts presented the kits to Infinite Love Animal Rescue, “a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing displaced dogs and cats. The rescue provides veterinary care, socialization, foster homes, and adoption services to help animals successfully transition into loving forever families. To recognize the girls’ dedication and community service, Kuwahara, Executive Director of Infinite Love Animal Rescue, partnered with Raising Cane’s to present 26 Girl Scouts with Raising Cane’s Achievement Awards, each redeemable for a free Kids Meal Combo.”
“I am incredibly grateful that Girl Scout Troop 5365 selected Infinite Love Animal Rescue as their Bronze Award partner,” said Kuwahara. “These girls demonstrated compassion, teamwork, and generosity while creating something that will make a real difference for both the animals and the families who adopt them. Their kindness will continue to touch lives long after this project is complete.”
