One killed, 2 injured at party

A young man in his late teens-to early twenties was shot and killed while two other people were injured during an incident at a business location in an unincorporated area of Gardena at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 23.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is investigating what caused the shooting at the 100 block of West 155th Street in the East Gardena/West Rancho Dominguez area.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, a Black male, 18-21 years of age, had been transported to a local hospital for apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso,” reads a statement from the LASD. “The victim was subsequently pronounced deceased. There were two additional gunshot victims (a Hispanic male juvenile and Black male/18) who were also transported to local hospitals and are currently listed in stable condition. Investigators learned there was a party going on at the business location when a fight ensued between two males and gunshots were heard.”

The LASD says that the investigation is ongoing and, at present, there is no suspect information.
