ECC cross-country men finish 11th in state, women take 16th

El Camino College’s men’s cross country team finished in 11th place at last Saturday’s California State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.

The Warriors totaled 275 place points, three short of 10th place, but they managed to top their South Coast Conference rival Mt. San Antonio College from Walnut and Saddleback College of Mission Viejo.

El Camino lost to both of those squads at the Southern California finals a week earlier at Mt. SAC.

Former San Pedro High standout David Rosales sparked ECC with a 34th place finish at 21 minutes and six minutes over the 4-mile course.

Other top runners for the Warriors included Reo Miranda-Lavertu (49th place, 21:24), Thomas Snur (59th, 21:29), Tyler Caracoza (68th, 21:35) and Jimi Duffin (80th, 21:44).

The Lady Warriors had 438 place points. They were led by Nicole Srocizmiski who was 53rd clocking 19:49 over the 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) course. Anique Villegas placed 75th in 20:10.
