Serra High sophomore pitcher Cardinal Fernandezees went 3-for-4 with three runs batted and two runs scored, and pitched a complete game shutout to key the Cavaliers to a 10-0 win over defending CIF-Southern Section Division III champion Bishop Amat in a Del Rey League baseball game last Friday in La Puente. Fernandezees scattered eight hits, struck out five batters and walked two. Serra hosts Cathedral in Del Rey action Friday at 3:15 p.m., then will host Mira Costa, a school that the Cavaliers defeated for the 2013 Southern Section Division III title two years ago, in a Harvard-Westlake Tournament contest Saturday at 11 a.m.
